A Strange Sound In The Deep Silence, an exhibition of new photographs by Morgan Levy, opens December 5, 2008. In her second solo exhibition, Morgan presents images from Iceland, which examine the geographical environment’s impact on psychology.
A native of Philadelphia, at five Morgan received a camera with disposable flashbulbs and has been photographing ever since. In more recent years she has obtained some newer cameras as well as a BFA in photography from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. In 2007 Morgan was awarded the Rosenberg Travel Fellowship to return to Iceland to complete a body of work she began there in 2006. Morgan’s photographs have been featured in several exhibitions including a solo show at the Kimmel Center Gallery, and group exhibitions at the Lower East Side Girls Gallery, Galleria Illy, Texas Woman’s University, and Chasama Upper West Side Gallery.
