James Fuentes LLC is pleased to announce the upcoming group exhibition 8 1/2×11 / A4.

As the ultimate blank canvas, the empty sheet of paper presents the most democratic surface for the starting point of artists in all mediums. The ubiquity of the page, which has a history dating back to 3500 BC and litters nearly every office building and student bedroom, means that this minimal material can easily be taken for granted. The blank page evokes the idea of choice and allows for enormous variety, and this exhibition hopes to highlight the ability to communicate with even the simplest of materials. In recent years, works on paper have matured from being considered a forum for studies to a respected genre, and this spectrum of possibilities will be presented here.
