Museum 52 is pleased to present the first show of its second year in New York City: Without Walls. Museum 52 has had a sculptural leaning in its programming since the opening of the London space in 2003. This exhibition features over 50 artists who have all been invited to present a sculptural work.

The only specifications given to the artists were that the walls would not be used, and that the sculpture should be within the approximate dimensions of two foot high, one foot wide and one foot deep. The size limitation was rooted in the sheer number of artists we wished to be in the exhibition.

The intention is to create a feeling of a gathering where the works come together in a less direct manner allowing, we hope, an environment of interaction that is more seated in chance.

Museum 52 would like to thank all those involved for participating so enthusiastically. We thank Yuri Masnyj and David Brooks for their help with the exhibition. We would also like to particularly thank Peter Miles Studio for their assistance with the design elements of the project and Amina Rab for her time spent on the accompanying booklet.
