Photo essays by: David Byrne by Debbie Branch, Crown Heights by Michael Britto, Manhattan – Close to Home by Frederick Hecker, response & continuation by Stephane Barile. Video: Remembering Myles by Faith Astrada.

This show commemorates the 10th anniversary not only of the gallery, but also of the death of Myles Tierney, the brave and adventurous 34 year old producer and cameraman for the Associated Press for whom the gallery is named and to whose memory it is dedicated. Myles was tragically and senselessly killed by a rebel soldier in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on January 10th, 1999. From 1996 until his death, Myles had covered strife throughout Africa for the AP, documenting crises in Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, Eritrea and other troublespots. The video he produced shaped the world’s awareness of these distant conflicts.

A video tribute to Myles by Faith Astrada will be on view, as well as photo essays by Debbie Branch, Michael Britto, Frederick Hecker, and Stephane Barile.
