BoxoFFICE is proud to inaugurate its activities with Handful of Sky, the first NY solo exhibition for John Luckett, painter and sculptor.
John Luckett was born and raised in the deep South, is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and attended the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. He has exhibited his painting and mixed media work in numerous group shows in Los Angeles, New York, and Joshua Tree, and in solo exhibitions in Los Angeles and San Francisco. His work has been included in private and corporate collections in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo, Rome, and London.
BoxoFFICE is dedicated to furthering contemporary art from the new American frontier. While this frontier may conjure a geographical image, it is, in fact, a spirit that lives in many places simultaneously. The artists that BoxoFFICE cooperates with are each singular in their practice. They address a range of subjects, in a variety of media, working freely, boldly and independently. Some are located in places that nurture the open spirit, such as the High Desert surrounding Joshua Tree, California. Others create their own free space within the metropolitan fabric. These artists engage a dialogue surrounding freedom, choice, and responsibility. And BoxoFFICE is their platform for a wider audience.
