In celebration of Malcolm X’s birthday, Brooklynite Gallery will host its first annual exhibition especially for kids (ages 2 – 15). Brooklynite Gallery wants to showcase some great young talent in hopes of inspiring them to continue to use creative expression throughout their lives. The opening will be shown LIVE on BROOKLYNITE TV with a performance by the cool kids band The Sheppard Brothers, plus some live kids graff.

On May 9th, Brooklynite Gallery is hosting a workshop for kids to come and actually create a piece of original art work that will be for sale during the exhibition. In addition, they are showcasing kids work on an international level, with many kids submitting work to the show from Europe & Ethiopia. A special section of the gallery will be dedicated to Ethiopian kids art and will support the non-profit h2 Empower’s mission to build a library in an Ethiopian village.

As an added bonus, internationally renowned street artists, SICKBOY, MISS BUGS, JOE BLACK, DAIN, PURE EVIL, K-GUY and LUDO will submit one piece of work and allow kids to add their collaborative efforts to it. Those pieces will be available in a silent- auction with a portion of the proceeds going to charity, Haven House in the UK – a wonderful children’s hospice for terminally ill kids, h2 Empower & 2 local Brooklyn schools.

When a child’s artwork is sold, the artist makes their commission and a portion of the proceeds goes directly to charity.
