Art for Change is pleased to present Faces of the Economy, a group art exhibition featuring artists Kiran Chandra, Elvira Clayton, Michael D’Antuono, Alexis Duque, Alejandro Guzman, Kathleena Howie-Garcia, Ijeoma D. Iheanacho, Ellen Coleman Izzo, Marilyn A. Johnson, Jamie Kelty, Angela Mark, Dato Mio, Danielle Poletto, Michael Pribich, Ashok Sinha, Juana Valdes, and Sarah Young. Faces of the Economy focuses on how the pressures of the economy affect the lives of individuals locally. Current pressures such as outsourcing of jobs overseas, lack of an adequate living wage against rising housing costs, and low job security are explored visually in various mediums. These and other rising economic pressures directly affect the lives of families and individuals, and many continue to feel powerless to confront these issues. The exhibition gives voices to those who are disenfranchised, and works to deconstruct the complexities our economic structures.
