Seong Kyung Hee’s abstract paintings are based on the changes endured in her life and convey her demure ideology. She believes in a “silent” creation whereby the artist’s vibrant imaginations are stripped from the canvas, leaving a sedate painting in which the interpretation lies with the viewer alone.
Seong Kyung Hee received a BFA from the College of Fine Arts at Seoul National University, where she won the Chief Justice Award. She went on to receive a MFA from the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Seoul National University. She has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows around Korea for over twenty years. She is currently a lecturer in the Oriental Paintings department at the College of Arts, Seoul National University.
